Roland Scott

Advanced EMT

East Baton Rouge Parish EMS
Baton Rouge, LA

Roland Scott has spent the past seven years serving others in healthcare, building a career rooted in compassion, education, and a commitment to helping people when they need it most. For Roland, service is more than a profession—it is a value instilled in him from an early age.

Roland’s father retired from BRFD after 30 years of service, and his example had a lasting influence on Roland’s life. Watching his father help others, both on and off duty, showed Roland the kind of person he wanted to become and inspired his own commitment to serving others.

Roland found his passion in healthcare, where he values not only caring for people in their time of need, but also helping them better understand their health. He takes the time to educate patients about their conditions, medications, and overall well-being, believing that providing patients with knowledge can be just as meaningful as the care itself.

Outside of work, Roland enjoys spending time with his wife, Meagan; his stepchildren, Micah and Eden; and their dog, Winston. He also enjoys detailing and restoring old-school vehicles, working with his hands, spending time outdoors, and relaxing with a good anime.

At the heart of everything Roland does are family, service, and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of others. His compassion for his patients and commitment to carrying forward a legacy of service reflect the values at the heart of emergency medical services. East Baton Rouge Parish EMS is proud to honor him as a Star of Life.
