Jordan Turner
Flight Nurse/Paramedic
Air Evac Lifeteam
Jordan Turner is a Flight Nurse and Paramedic with Air Evac Lifeteam (AEL) in Hardinsburg, Kentucky, whose clinical expertise, quick thinking, and determined patient advocacy helped save the life of a critically ill patient.
During a challenging transport, Jordan and his flight partner cared for a patient whose condition continued to deteriorate. Recognizing the severity of the emergency, they coordinated and administered a significant volume of blood products while providing continuous lifesaving care.
Jordan recognized that the patient urgently needed surgical intervention and strongly advocated for direct admission to the operating room, helping minimize delays in reaching definitive treatment. When the patient’s condition became critical during transfer and additional blood products were not yet available, Jordan continued transfusions using his crew’s own supply, helping sustain the patient until the surgical team could assume care.
The patient survived and ultimately made a full recovery. The successful outcome reflected the coordinated efforts of the entire care team, with Jordan’s clinical judgment, persistence, and willingness to advocate for his patient playing an important role.
Jordan’s actions demonstrate the vital role critical care transport professionals play in bridging the gap between initial treatment and definitive care. Air Evac Lifeteam is proud to recognize Flight Nurse and Paramedic Jordan Turner as a Star of Life.
