Fear doesn’t stop Dustin Wilson—it fuels his resolve. On one extraordinary call, Dustin responded to an emergency involving an unresponsive individual found hanging from a bridge, entangled in a rope. The patient appeared to have been attempting to rappel down to recover belongings that had fallen into the water below.

With no fire personnel or rescue equipment yet on scene, Dustin took charge. Secured only by his partner and local officers, he climbed over the guardrail to reach the patient. His decisive actions allowed the team to pull the individual back to safety, where CPR was initiated. Thanks to Dustin’s leadership and quick response, the patient regained a pulse before being transported for further care.
