Wendy Wollaeger

Wendy Wollaeger is a Paramedic and Field Training Officer with Cataldo Ambulance Service whose compassion, clinical skill, and commitment to developing others have distinguished her throughout her 11-year EMS career. She has spent the past six years with Cataldo and has served as a Field Training Officer for four years.

As an FTO, Wendy has trained and mentored numerous students, EMTs, and Paramedics. She approaches each learner with patience, warmth, and a genuine investment in their success, helping new providers develop not only their clinical abilities, but also the confidence and compassion essential to a career in EMS.

Wendy’s own clinical career has included experiences that demonstrate both the challenges and rewards of emergency medical care. She has contributed to two successful cardiac arrest resuscitations and assisted with the delivery of a baby in the field. Her commitment to caring for others has also taken her far beyond her local community. Wendy has participated in two overseas medical missions, providing care to refugees in Bangladesh.

Whether caring for a patient or supporting a colleague, Wendy brings kindness, resilience, and optimism to those around her. Her genuine love for EMS is evident in the compassionate care she provides, the relationships she builds, and the encouragement she offers to the providers she trains. Even on demanding days, Wendy has a remarkable ability to lift those around her, making difficult shifts easier and good days even better.

Outside of EMS, Wendy continues her commitment to helping others grow as an L2 CrossFit Coach, working with both teenagers and adults. Her work as a coach reflects many of the same qualities she brings to EMS: encouragement, perseverance, mentorship, and a desire to help others reach their potential.

Through her clinical expertise, humanitarian service, mentorship, and unwavering compassion, Wendy has made a meaningful impact on patients, students, colleagues, and communities both at home and abroad.
